Whitesburg boy is winner of the ARH Cutest Baby Contest
Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Inc. (ARH) is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2013 ARH Cutest Baby Contest is 14-month-old Connor Robert Allen Smith.
ARH and WYMT-TV congratulate Conner and his parents Kyle and Brandy Smith who reside in Whitesburg, Ky. Conner received 9,882 votes in the Facebook contest which was the largest number of votes for a single entry. Contest prizes were awarded to the Smith family at the Mountain Heritage Festival on September 24, in Letcher County, Ky.
“We are so happy to celebrate Conner Smith’s win as the 2013 ARH Cutest Baby during Down Home Family Night at the Mountain Heritage Festival,” said Dena Sparkman, Whitesburg ARH Community CEO and spokesperson for the contest. “With the focus being on family, it’s appropriate to honor Conner and his family on this special night at the festival.”
According to Sparkman, she is especially pleased for the opportunity to present the contest prizes to Conner and his parents.
“We are blessed with cute babies here in eastern Kentucky,” said Sparkman. “I’ve never seen so many cute babies entered into one contest. I’m sure it was difficult for the voters to choose just one, but when all the votes were calculated, it became obvious that Conner Smith won the hearts of the voters.”
During the contest, the Smith’s posted the following description along with Conner’s photo. Conner is always smiling . . . unless he’s hungry. He loves to bang on his drums and ride the 4-wheeler. After he’s tired from a long day of playing, he likes to cuddle before going to sleep.
ARH and WYMT-TV launched the 2013 Cutest Baby contest on Facebook on May 13, 2013. There were 580 baby photos submitted and uploaded to ARH and WYMT-TV Facebook pages and a total of 52,147 votes were cast. Legal residents, age 18 and up, living within WYMT’s service area were eligible to vote once per day for the baby they believed was the cutest. The 2013 ARH Cutest Baby contest ran from May 13 to August 13, 2013.
