ARH Bariatric
Improving Health Through Surgical Weight Loss

We are pleased to announce the new ARH surgical weight loss practice coming to the new ARH Medical Mall in Hazard. The practice will be under the direction of the Bluegrass Bariatrics Surgical Associates, the only group in the state to dedicate its practice entirely to bariatric surgery.

The practice will be headed by G. Derek Weiss,MD and John S. Oldham, Jr. MD. Recognized by the American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery as Center of Excellence Surgeons, Doctors Weiss and Oldham performed 40 percent of all bariatric surgeries in Kentucky in 2007 and have performed thousands of these procedures over the past five years.

The ARH Bariatrics Weight Loss Practice will offer the LAp-BAND Ap® System. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, there's no stomach cutting or stapling, plus it's adjustable for your needs, and can even be removed if necessary.
