CARDIAC REHABILITATION SERVICES

The cardiac rehabilitation program at Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center is designed to provide safe activities and education to prepare you for the challenges of returning to your day-to-day activities after experiencing a heart attack or undergoing heart bypass surgery.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMS
Outpatient Services are available Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Phase I ( Inpatient Cardiac Rehab) The purpose of inpatient cardiac rehab (phase I) is to prepare the patient and family for hospital discharge, prevent reconditioning and to promote quality of living for the patient with heart disease through education, exercise, and behavior/risk factor modifications.
- Phase II (Outpatient Cardiac Rehab) This phase consists of a highly structured, progressive and individualized exercise program during the recovery phase of the illness. It includes telemetry-monitored exercise three times a week with educational needs provided in either a class-like setting or on an individual basis.
- Phase III (Wellness Program) This phase consist of graduates of phase II who are not ready for discharge. The goal of this phase is to prepare the participant to assume responsibility for his/her own exercise routine.
The rehab staff is committed to working with individual patients and their families to improve emotional well-being, functional capacity, and their quality of life by developing multiple risk factor interventions that are appropriate for each patient.
