RESPIRATORY THERAPY SERVICES

Our Respiratory Care Department provides diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and care for people having problems associated with their lungs and breathing.
- Arterial Blood Gases are performed by collecting a sample of blood from an artery. Blood gases measure the pH (acidity), oxygen content, and carbon dioxide content of the blood.
- Pulmonary Function Testing ( including DLCO and Nitrogen Washout) will help determine your lung condition, enabling us to develop an individualized plan of treatment.
- Pulse Oximetry measures oxygen saturation in the blood.
- Nebulizers help to keep the respiratory system functioning properly through the use of aerosols that distribute medication to the lungs.
- IPPB Therapy helps keep the Respiratory System functioning properly via of Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing and medication.
- Ventilator Support assists and controls breathing when the patients breathing muscles have been compromised by disease, trauma or general anesthesia.
- CPAP/ BiPAP assists patients breathing providing positive airway pressure for better oxygen exchange and ventilation.
- CPT/ Flutter Therapy methods used to assist patients with the clearance of secretions.
- Carbon Monoxide Testing measures the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) on the breath.
- Peak Flow Monitoring and Education Management measures the "Peak Expiratory Flow Rate", which is the highest speed you can blow air from your lungs. This will help your physician and your healthcare professional with your treatment plan.
- Education is provided to the community on such topics as Asthma, Emphysema, Bronchitis and COPD.
- Pediatric services include:
- Nebulizer Therapy
- CPT
- P/Ox Monitoring
- Oxygen Therapy/Aerosol Tent Therapy, Oxyhoods
- Nasal CPAP
- Ventilator Support
- Sleep Lab:
- We now have three sleep beds for patient and doctor convenience.
