Honors & Recognition

Consistently recognized for its medical excellence, the ARH system was one of two Kentucky health systems to be named earlier this year to the 2011 SDI IHN 100 listing of the most highly integrated healthcare networks in the nation, and was selected as the 2010 Outstanding Rural Health Organization in the nation by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).

Most recently, the Harlan ARH Hospital was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare.  Harlan ARH was also recognized by HealthStream with its Excellence Through Insight Award for Most Improved Community Perception of Quality. This award is recognizes Harlan ARH as a hospital at the top of its class for community perception of quality care.

McDowell ARH Hospital was recognized by HealthStream with the Excellence Through Insight Award for overall satisfaction in their Outpatient Lab Unit by HealthStream, a learning and research applications provider for the health care industry. The award recognizes hospitals that excel in the ability to gain insight into their patients, employees, physicians, and community through research and to use information to build excellence within their organization.

Summers County ARH Hospital was recognized by HealthStream with an Excellence Through  Insight award for Overall Physician Satisfaction in the Small Hospital category as well as an award for Most Improved Overall Inpatient Satisfaction. The awards recognize hospitals that excel in their ability to gain insight into their patients, employees, physicians and community through research and to use that information to build excellence within their organization.
