Beckley ARH Hospital's comprehensive laboratory is dedicated to the detection and monitoring of disease. We work around-the-clock, seven days a week testing, evaluating, and reporting results that help provide answers for your better health.
- Phlebotomy is the collection of blood from the patient.
- Outpatient Testing is available at the on campus hospital lab and the Physician Office Building laboratory located on the first floor.
- Blood Bank stores life-saving blood for use when it's needed. Testing is performed to determine blood types and the presence of antibodies.
- Clinical Chemistry analyzes blood and body fluids for components such as glucose or cholesterol to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of your condition and to monitor individualized care.
- Coagulation is the evaluation of the process of clot formation.
- Hematology includes the evaluation of blood cells and the clotting ability of blood.
- Histopathology examines specimens and tissues removed during surgery to determine the absence or presence and nature of disease.
- Urinalysis involves the chemical and microscopic analysis of urine for diagnostic purposes.
- Laboratory Outreach is available for participating staff physicians and local employers.
A physician's order is required for all services. Please stop at the registration desk before going to the laboratory. For more information about Laboratory Services at Beckley ARH, call 304-255-3000.
