The ARH Daniel Boone Clinic in Harlan is a multi-specialty group practice. The clinic has a 45-year history of providing a variety of quality health services for all ages to the people of Harlan County and the surrounding region.

SPECIALTIES

Otolaryngology (ENT) - Medical and surgical treatment of disease of the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck, including microscopic examination and fiber optic endoscopy.

General Surgery - Minor lacerations and injuries, laparoscopic surgical procedures, venous surgery, laser surgery, minor fractures and sprains, cyst, mole, and wart removal, endoscopy, and colonoscopy. A cardio-thoracic surgeon schedules clinic visits weekly, refers to Hazard for major procedures, and performs bronchoscopic procedures locally.

Internal Medicine - Management of most medical issues including but not limited to: diabetes, asthma, black lung, heart conditions, peptic ulcers, arthritis, high blood pressure, urinary track infections, annual physicals, preventive medicine, allergy injections, flu shots, and minor illnesses.

Neurology - Diagnosis and treatment of strokes, seizures, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, headaches, neck and back pain.

Obstetrics and Gynecology - Primary and preventative care for women. Services include early detection and management of medical and surgical disorders before, during, and after pregnancy; counseling about high risk behaviors; birth control; infertility work-ups; cancer screening; and annual check-ups. 4-D Ultrasound technology.

Ophthalmology - Diagnosis and treatment of eye problem, including blurred vision, injuries, cataracts. Services also include measuring and prescribing for glasses and contact lenses, and laser and cataract-surgery.

Pediatrics - Diagnosis and treatment of the injuries and illnesses or children in addition to well-baby exams, immunizations, annual check-ups and behavior disorder treatment.

Cardiology - a complete range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease is provided by the physicians of the Appalachian Heart Center in the offices of the Daniel Boone Clinic.

Hematology/Oncology - Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and blood diseases. Oncology infusion treatments are delivered to patients at Harlan ARH Hospital.
