The Speech-Language Pathology Department at the Harlan ARH Hospital offers a full range of speech, language, and swallowing services for people of all ages. The goal of the Speech-Language Pathology Department is to provide services, including prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders. Specialized services include:

  • Infant feeding problems
  • Pediatric speech and language delays and disorders
  • Stuttering or fluency disorders
  • Acquired speech/language disorders such as aphasia, dysarthria and apraxia of speech
  • Swallowing disorders in adults and children
  • Memory disorders associated with a neurological event such as stroke, head injury or pathological illness
  • Post-concussive cognitive disorders
  • Vocal fold dysfunction
  • Tongue Thrust
