The Speech-Language Pathology Department at the Harlan ARH Hospital offers a full range of speech, language, and swallowing services for people of all ages. The goal of the Speech-Language Pathology Department is to provide services, including prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders. Specialized services include:
- Infant feeding problems
- Pediatric speech and language delays and disorders
- Stuttering or fluency disorders
- Acquired speech/language disorders such as aphasia, dysarthria and apraxia of speech
- Swallowing disorders in adults and children
- Memory disorders associated with a neurological event such as stroke, head injury or pathological illness
- Post-concussive cognitive disorders
- Vocal fold dysfunction
- Tongue Thrust
