Abha Ojha MD

ARH Tug Valley Medical Associates and Williamson ARH Hospital announce the newest member of their healthcare team - Dr. Abha. Dr. Abha is a general surgeon experienced in trauma surgery, various abdominal and other surgeries as well as performing laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Abha is returning to Kentucky to practice. She started her general surgery residency at the University of Kentucky and finished in Chicago as chief surgical resident. If you are in need of surgery ask your primary physician to refer you to Dr. Abha.

Dr. Phillip Spence

ARH Tug Valley Medical mall is proud to welcome Dr. Phillip Spence to it's medical staff. Dr. Spence is a Physiatrist. Physiatrists have practiced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) for more than 70 years, with the earliest of treatments dating back to World War II when physiatrists were vital in treatment of injured soldiers. In 1947,PM&R was officially recognized as a medical specialty by the Advisory Board of Medical Specialties. Physical medicine and rehabilitation involves the management of injuries and disorders that alter the function and daily activities of the patient. Emphasis is placed on the optimization of function.

Physiatrists direct comprehensive rehabilitation team of professionals That may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, recreational therapists, and others.

To maximize the patient's rehabilitation treatment, physiatrists Collaborate with family practice, internal medicine, orthopedists, neurologists, cardiologists, rheumatologist, and many other physician specialties.

Physiatrists perform diagnostic procedures such as electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS).EMG and NCS detect areas of muscle and nerve damage. Common conditions that are treated by physiatrists include amputation, sports injury, neurological impairments (stroke), musculoskeletal impairments (shoulder, knee, back, joints, tendons, muscles, and carpal tunnel),pediatric impairments, gait/balance, and abnormal muscle tone.

ARH Tug Valley Medical Mall and Williamson ARH Hospital announce the newest member of their healthcare team - Dr. Tanveer Akhtar. Dr. Akhtar is an Internal Medicine physician specializing in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. He is trained to solve diagnostic problems and help patients manage chronic illnesses. Dr. Akhtar also emphasizes wellness and prevention. In addition to clinic visits Dr. Akhtar coordinates patient care during hospitalization. Dr. Akhtar is now accepting new patients, call today for an appointment.

Fridays 8 :00 am to 4:30 pm
