Home Health

Our team of healthcare professionals will work with you and your physician to develop a plan of care that meets your individual needs.

Home Health Nurses

Dedicated and experienced registered nurses make home visits to provide services ordered by your doctor. Their services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cardiac Care
  • Diabetes management and monitoring
  • Health care teaching
  • Injections
  • IV therapy
  • Maintenance and replacement of catheters
  • Medication instruction
  • Cancer services
  • Hypertension
  • Alzheimer's
  • COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
  • CVA (Cerebral Vascular Accident)
  • CHF (Congestive Heart Failure)
  • Coumadin Therapy
  • Ostomy care
  • Wound care

Home Health Aides

Home health aides supplement your nurse’s care by helping you with daily personal tasks. Your aid can assist you with:

  • Personal care
  • Meal preparation
  • Simple prescribed exercises
  • Light housekeeping

Therapy and Rehabilitation

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy uses goal-directed activity to evaluate and treat people whose ability to function has been impaired by normal aging, illness, injury or developmental disability. Our therapists can teach you new or different ways to carry out daily tasks such as dressing and cooking. Occupational Therapist can assist you with:

  • Activities to improve memory, planning and self-management skills
  • Education and retraining in daily living skills
  • Home environmental design adaptation
  • Splints and adaptive equipment

Speech-Language Pathology

Helping you communicate effectively and swallow safely is the role of your speech-language pathologist. They will work with you to:

  • Correct or Adapt to swallowing disorders
  • Develop oral and written communications skills
  • Help your family understand your communication problem

Medical Social Services

Our medical social workers can provide counseling to help you and your family adjust to emotional, social and personal changes associated with your illness. We can help you and your family with making arrangements for other community resources to assist you in your home.

Home and Community Based Waiver Program

The Waiver Program provides in-home services to qualifying individuals who, without in-home assistance, would have to go to a nursing home. Middlesboro ARH Home Health participates in the Waiver Program and offers a variety of services including:

  • Assessment
  • Case Management
  • Homemaker Services
  • Personal Care Services
  • Respite Care Services

Your physician must order home health care services for you. A nurse will work closely with you and your doctor to establish a treatment plan. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
