What is cardiac rehabilitation?

Cardiac rehabilitation is offered at Beckley ARH, Hazard ARH and Whitesburg ARH and is a physician-supervised program for people who have either congenital or acquired heart disease. The cardiac rehabilitation program at ARH is designed to provide safe activities and education to prepare you for the challenges of returning to your day-to-day activities after experiencing a heart attack or undergoing heart bypass surgery.

The rehab staff is committed to working with individual patients and their families to improve emotional well-being, functional capacity, and their quality of life by developing multiple risk factor interventions that are appropriate for each patient.
