Once an application is complete in PhORCAS, it will be reviewed by the residency selection committee which is comprised of the Residency Program Director (RPD), Director of Pharmacy (DOP), Residency Program Coordinator, preceptors and current residents. Each reviewer will score the residency candidate based on the following criteria:
The scores will be averaged and used to determine a candidate’s eligibility for an interview. The RPD will contact candidates as necessary to schedule interviews based on application scoring.
- Hospital and pharmacy experience
- Academic performance
- Strength of letters of recommendation
- Written communication skills
- Extracurricular activities
- Leadership roles
- Perceived ability to achieve residency goals and objectives.
The residency selection committee may conduct a telephone interview if any of the evaluation criteria require clarification or if more information about the candidate is desired. All candidates must be able to attend an on-site interview to be considered for this residency program.
Rank and Match Procedure
Once all interviews are complete, the Residency Advisory Council will rank the candidates based on all available information. The RPD will submit the rank to the DOP for the final decision.
