2nd Annual Well I’ll Bee Active

BECKLEY, W.Va. (September 24, 2019) – Well I’ll Bee Active will be presenting free fitness, health and wellness event for older adults on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Well I’ll Bee Active will be held at Memorial Baptist Church Gymnasium and all ages are welcome.

According to Jeri Knowlton, co-director of the Well I’ll Bee program, remaining active as an older adult adds to quality of life, belonging, and well-being.

“Our hope is to get Raleigh County moving,” Knowlton said. “We know that the more active and engaged we are the better frame of mind we have, the longer we live and the better we feel.”

Brought to you by Beckley ARH Hospital, and in partnership with Raleigh County Commission on Aging and Active Southern West Virginia, activities will include cornhole, Tai Chi, QiGong, Refit Aerobics, line dancing, fitness bingo, and Raqs Sharqi. There will also be door prizes and giveaways.

“Well I’ll Bee Active as a program seeks to improve health and promote well-being by encouraging older adults to be more active. It is very important to us that we do this in partnership with others in the community who are also supportive of an active, healthy community. We take great pleasure in partnering with others to make this event happen.”

Additionally, community resources and information will be offered from Raleigh County Commission on Aging, Jan Care Ambulance, Visiting Angels, ARH HomeCare Stores, Beckley Fire Department (Project Lifesaver), Best Ambulance, and ARH Well I’ll Bee Senior Wellness Program.
