Community Health Fair set for November 13
Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center will be hosting a Community Health Fair on Wednesday November 13, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the hospital atrium. The health fair is a collaborative effort of multiple services at the hospital, including lab, pharmacy and community education.
ARH staff will perform free health screenings including blood pressure, stroke, cholesterol, EKGs and vision. The pharmacy will open early for flu shots, and hands-only CPR will be taught for those interested. FIT kit registration (at-home colon cancer screening) will be available on site.
“This event demonstrates how several partners can come together with a common vision for educating and improving people’s health,” said Tim Hatfield, Community CEO at Highland ARH Regional Medical Center. “We want to reach our community members in Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin and Pike counties to help them understand that ARH is on a mission to positively impact the health and well-being of the people in central Appalachia.”
The event is open to the public. All ages are welcome. Door prizes, giveaways and a free breakfast will be provided. Additionally, community resources and information will be offered from more than 20 area vendors.
