Heart Cath

Heart Cath

The ARH Cardiology team may talk to you about a cardiac catheterization (cath) to see how well your heart is working. It can also be used to identify problems and administer a treatment for narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. A cath is a procedure that measures the pressure and blood flow in and around the heart. It can also be used to treat certain heart conditions. Click here for hearth cath fact sheets.
Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)- ballooning and/or stenting a blockage in an artery of the heart.

Emergent 24/7 PCI

*Emergent 24/7 PCI*- stenting of a blockage during a heart attack.

Coronary Stent

Coronary stent- tube-shaped device placed in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart in order to keep the arteries open in the treatment of coronary heart disease.

AAA/Aneurysm Repair

AAA/Aneurysm Repair replaces the diseases portion of the aorta with an artificial graft. Minimally invasive endovascular repair guides a stent-graft to the weakened area of the aorta wall with imaging guidance through a small incision.

Coronary Angioplasty

Coronary Angioplasty is a procedure used to open clogged heart arteries. Angioplasty uses a tiny balloon catheter that is inserted in a blocked blood vessel to help widen it and improve blood flow to your heart.

Cardioversion

Cardioversion is a procedure that restores a normal heart rhythm in people with certain types of abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias).

Epicardial Lead Placement

Lead(s) are attached directly to the surface of the heart to help heart failure patients.

Loop Recorder

A loop recorder is a type of implanted heart-monitoring device that records your heart rhythm continuously for a particular time frame. It records the electrical signals of your heart and is a small device inserted just beneath the skin of the chest.
