Find a Physician

Auxiliary members play a vital part in Appalachian Regional Healthcare’s success through their fundraising efforts, assistance with patient issues, and by serving as ARH’s ambassadors in their respective communities. ARH has approximately 230 volunteers system-wide that provide around 225 volunteer hours of service per month.

A few of the services provided by ARH’s auxiliary members include:

  • Staffing hospital information desks
  • Operating the facility’s gift shop
  • Supplying magazines and other reading materials for waiting rooms
  • Delivering mail and flowers to patients
  • Assisting with hospital events and employee activities
  • Raising funds for the purchase of hospital equipment and educational materials

Becoming a Volunteer

If you enjoy being around other people and have free time to share, please consider serving as an ARH auxiliary member. You can play an important role in helping us provide quality healthcare to our patients throughout Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.

At ARH, auxiliary members help provide a special touch that can make a patient’s stay more comfortable. Volunteering at ARH offers the benefits of developing new interests, making new friends and most importantly, gaining personal satisfaction by making a difference in a patient’s hospital stay. Volunteering offers opportunities for retirees, professionals, and homemakers. Flexible scheduling is available to provide for individual skills and personal needs.

In addition to the work, ARH auxiliary members also enjoy other benefits such as recognition luncheons and events, newsletters, free flu shots, and service awards.
