First Newborn of 2015 Delivered at Middlesboro ARH Hospital
Middlesboro ARH Hospital welcomed its first baby of the new year born on January 5, 2015.
At 12:51 p.m., Meredith Eades, certified nurse midwife, delivered Isaiah Lee Phillip Taylor. He weighed 6 pounds and 15.4 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Parents are Gabriella LaBounty and Brandon Taylor and they reside in Harrogate, Tn.
As the first baby born at Middlesboro ARH in 2015, the hospital gave Isaiah and his family a large, baby bathtub full of items every baby needs including a baby monitor. The Middlesboro ARH Auxiliary gave Isaiah a baby swing. Other gifts from local businesses included a sleeper from the Belk Store, a large baby bottle bank with baby accessories from the Roses Store, a baby walker and bumble seat from First State Financial, a gift certificate for a one-year subscription from the Pineville Sun-Cumberland Courier and a $100 gift certificate from Food City’s Baby Club.
Middlesboro ARH Hospital offers private labor-delivery-recovery rooms with private baths in a home-like atmosphere where the focus is on a family-centered birthing experience. Once the baby is born, the hospital offers rooming in for parents and baby to enhance newborn teaching with a newborn nursery nurse available and dedicated to this service 24 hours a day.
OB-GYN physician Nathan Mullins, MD, Certified Nurse Midwife Meredith Eades, and OB nursing staff provide individualized care for moms and babies. Middlesboro ARH also offers a comfortable nursery with a state-of-the-art security system.
“Location, comfort and hospitality supported by a team of highly experienced physicians and nurses are important when selecting an environment to give birth,” said Rhonda Hensley, OB Nurse Manager at Middlesboro ARH. “Here at Middlesboro ARH Hospital, we are proud to have the only full-service OB Department in the tri-state community.”
