Statement from ARH Regarding System-wide Computer-related Issues
The Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) system of hospitals in Kentucky and West Virginia is currently on an Emergency Operations Plan due to a computer virus that has limited our use of electronic web-based services. We are currently working to resolve this issue, until then we will have limited access to web based services and electronic communications.
All ARH computers have been shut down to prevent further spread of the virus, and all ARH hospitals are operating with established disaster plans in place.
All patient-care, registration, medication, imaging, and laboratory services are being managed manually. All critical patients are being assessed to determine if they should be transferred to another medical facility for care. At this time, all ARH Emergency Departments continue to accept patients.
