April 18, 2024 — Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) and Morehead State University (MSU) have joined forces to help grow the healthcare workforce in Eastern Kentucky by offering a tuition discount to ARH employees who enroll in MSU’s post-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
ARH signed a memorandum of understanding with MSU on Monday, April 15, at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center affirming that any full-time ARH employee who enrolls for the first time or transfer to MSU will receive a 25% tuition discount for the online RN-BSN program.
For first-time undergraduate students who are ARH employees, the enrollment fee will be waived in addition to the discount.
“By partnering with ARH on the employee tuition discount program for the online RN-BSN program, MSU is able to meet students where they are to complete their degrees,” said Director of Transfer Services Jen Timmerman. “The convenient online format allows students to fit coursework into their busy schedule, around their work, family, and other responsibilities.”
“ARH is committed to helping our employees achieve their goals of advancing their careers by providing them opportunities to further their education. This partnership with MSU is an excellent opportunity to invest back into our employees and make an impact on our region’s need for educated and advanced nursing staff,” says Hollie Phillips, ARH President and CEO. “We look forward to working with MSU in this partnership and seeing the lasting effects it will have on our employees, patients and healthcare in the region in years to come.”
