BIRTH
ARH offers a spectrum of birthing options depending on the mother’s desires and the medical need.

OB UNIT
- Newborn Photos are available in the hospital and can be posted with birth announcements on the hospital’s social media pages with your permission.

- Infant Car Seat Challenge
- Metabolic and Genetic Disorders
- Bilirubin Levels
- Breast Feeding: Nurses are trained to assist with education and breastfeeding. Breast pumps are available if needed.
- Kangaroo Care: ARH birthing hospitals support Skin to Skin Care, also known as Kangaroo Care. Mother and baby are skin to skin for, ideally, one hour or longer after delivery. Kangaroo care can be continued on the postpartum unit. Father or support persons are also encouraged to do Kangaroo Care if desired.
NURSERY CARE & NICU

NICU interventions:
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (СРАР) respiratory support is used to deliver oxygen and constant air pressure to help the air sacs in the baby's lungs stay open and help prevent apnea.
- IV Medications such as antibiotics and intravenous fluids for various reasons including infection and volume replacement.
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) and Opioid Exposure Care - ARH Providers, Nurses and Ancillary Staff have received additional training to provide the best supportive therapies for infants exposed to substances during pregnancy. Therapies include non-medical interventions like music therapy and medication therapy if needed.
- Vapotherm is an oxygen therapy for infants that need help with respiration and oxygenation but do not require a ventilator.
