January 11, 2023  –Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) announced today the promotion of Roy Milwee to Chief Ambulatory Officer overseeing all clinical outpatient operations for the healthcare system.

Milwee has been a leader in ambulatory services for ARH since June 2016, most recently serving as Vice President of Ambulatory Services, where he has provided strategic leadership for the health system’s wide range of 90 clinic sites, 320 providers, and other outpatient services across eastern Kentucky and southern West Virginia.

“I am humbled and honored to continue serving the mission of ARH and the people we serve. I am equally thankful for the confidence and trust that has been put in me to help lead this organization,” Milwee said. “Working with every member of the ARH team, we will continue to improve the access and quality of care to all the people of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.”  

Milwee began his career with ARH in 2009 as a Community-Based Planner and has since held several leadership roles, including Assistant Administrator for Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital, assisting with the transition of the hospital into the ARH healthcare system, before moving his focus to ambulatory services where he first served as a system administrator responsible for leading clinic operations and later as the Chief Executive Officer of Ambulatory Services.

I look forward to his continued direction as he moves into this senior leadership position and guides our system to bring more accessibility to our ambulatory services and maintain the highest quality of care our patients receive when they turn to ARH for outpatient care.”
