NEWS RELEASE – October 20, 2023

Stephanie Wooton Named VP of Ambulatory Services

October 20, 2023 – Stephanie Wooton has been named Vice President of Ambulatory Services for the multi-hospital Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) system.

Wooton began her career over twenty years ago as an administrative assistant for the Hazard Clinic. In 2007, Wooton transitioned into the role of clinic manager where she managed updating health record software and other systems, hired and trained personnel, and more, but she strived for patient satisfaction through open communication with patients. In 2017, ARH acquired the clinic, and in 2020, Wooton became clinic administrator for Hazard ARH clinics, moving to a regional clinic administrator role in 2021.

ARH Chief Ambulatory Officer Roy Milwee comments, “Stephanie’s continued growth and development has been great to witness. I am thrilled to have her on the ambulatory team and have full confidence in her in this new role. Her ambition, work ethic and self-motivation make her an ideal employee. Her presence in our communities, working with our team, will help us continue to elevate the services we offer to our patients.”

As vice president of ambulatory services, Wooton will be responsible for the operational budget, contractual relationships with 3rd party organizations, and overseeing and providing leadership. Striving for patient satisfaction will remain one of her priorities as she will continue evaluating patient satisfaction and implementing and managing key patient services all designed to provide patients with the highest quality of care.

Wooton obtained her bachelor’s and master’s in business administration from the University of the Cumberlands. In addition to her job experience, Wooton has leadership experience through her completion of the Appalachian Regional Healthcare Leadership Academy, serving on the MIT/HIT Program Advisory Committee for Hazard Community and Technical College and on the board of directors for the Hazard Perry County Community Ministries in Hazard.

Using leadership skills learned through the experience of supervising primary care and multispecialty medical providers while managing other departments and team members will be an asset in her new role. Wooton hopes to continue to improve the ARH patient experience by focusing on enhancing efficiency and processes, providing growth opportunities, and encouraging adaptability as healthcare continues to expand and evolve.

Wooton said, “ARH has provided so many opportunities for me throughout my career, and I’m excited to serve in this new role.” Wooten continued, “We have an amazing, talented team of people providing care for our patients and I’m proud to be part of this team.”
