December 13, 2023 – Misty Vance, AIC, CCLS has been named the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Insurance and Claims for Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH). Vance has worked with ARH for 22 years. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Paralegal Science from Eastern Kentucky University and is a Casualty Claims Law Specialist. She has worked as the System Director of Claims Management in the Office of Legal Affairs managing the lines of litigation and asserted claims across the ARH system alongside of the ARH Chief Legal Officer.
“My primary goal is to minimize ARH’s liability exposure as much as possible so that ARH can continue to fulfill its’ mission in our communities. I hope to achieve this goal by collaborating with our Chief Legal Officer to proactively manage all claims and litigation in the most efficient and effective way available and work towards the best possible resolution for each claim. This goal also includes managing the ARH Self-Insurance Program as well as all commercial insurance lines of coverage to ensure that ARH has appropriate levels of insurance coverage for claims across all lines of coverage,” says Vance.
Vance is married to her husband, Heath of 21 years and resides in Leslie County. Together, they share a love of gardening, great food, and the outdoors. They also serve together in their church media room.
