Dear Friends,
I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of the ARH Foundation for Healthier Communities this year. It has been truly inspiring to witness your kindness and unwavering generosity as you assist us in our efforts to help those who continue to rebuild their lives following the devastating flooding in eastern Kentucky.
We now find ourselves in the season of giving, and our hearts are full as we pause to remember the many acts of kindness, we have witnessed over the past 16 months. We’ve received gifts both large and small – though none more important than the other. And sometimes the smallest gifts are those that resonate the most.
During our immediate recovery efforts last year, we received a box with a note attached. The parents of a 4-year-old named Remmi explained their son, wise and kind beyond his young years, worried for the children who lost their toys to the floodwaters. So, Remmi donated his own toys, including his well-loved stuffed lion.
Rory has become a symbol for our efforts. This child, so selfless and full of love, gave a gift to those that he knew were suffering. This gift, given with the hope of helping a stranger, has inspired us all. It is with Remmi and his lion Rory on my mind that I write to you today. I know that you have compassion for our communities, and I know that the recovery of our communities is important to you.
Today, though the flood waters have long dried up, there are still families in eastern Kentucky in need of housing or other basic items. We remain steadfast in our commitment to help, but we can only do so with your assistance. As you plan your holiday giving, you please consider joining Remmi in making a gift to the ARH Foundation.
Your gift can be made online at www.arh.org/donate.
Happy Holidays, and as always, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our ARH communities.
Thank you,
