January 02, 2025 – The “Round Up to Donate” program was launched with the goal of giving Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) employees, visitors, and community members an easy way to contribute to the ARH Foundation and support the communities ARH serves. The initiative allows individuals to round up their purchases in ARH cafeterias to the nearest dollar or donate more if they choose.
The funds raised through this program are now directed to the ARH Foundation to support its vital programs and initiatives, specifically the Employee Emergency Assistance Fund, which provides financial assistance to ARH employees experiencing temporary financial hardship.
Sodexo, a key partner of ARH and the operator of ARH Cafeterias, has long shared a commitment to giving back to the communities they serve.
“The values of Sodexo align with the ARH Foundation’s mission, and we are always looking for ways to contribute to the areas we serve,” said Andy Lockwood, Sodexo Client Executive.
When the opportunity to implement the “Round Up to Donate” program arose, it was seen as an easy and effective way to engage ARH employees and visitors in supporting their local community while offering a simple, accessible way for people to give back to the ARH Foundation.
“ARH employees and visitors appreciate having the option to contribute easily, whether rounding up a small amount or choosing to donate more,” said Angela Bailey, Executive Director of the ARH Foundation. “It’s clear that people want to help in any way they can, and the Round Up to Donate program has provided a way for them to do so conveniently.”
While the program is still in its early stages, there have already been encouraging signs of its impact and the excitement surrounding the initiative continues to grow.
“We hope that as more employees and visitors participate, the program will have a significant impact on the ARH Foundation’s efforts to help those who need it most,” said Angela Bailey.
“For now, the goal is to continue raising awareness and encouraging participation, with the hopes of making “Round Up to Donate” a successful and lasting initiative that supports the ARH Foundation, our mission, and the people we serve for years to come,” said Angela Bailey. “Employees, visitors, and community members can help by sharing information about the program and encouraging others to take part.”
Ultimately, the “Round Up to Donate” program reflects a shared desire to make a difference in the lives of those who rely on ARH and the ARH Foundations services and programs. It’s more than just a donation program; it’s a way for the entire community to come together and contribute to something meaningful.
