Lexington, KY – Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is proud to announce that all four members of the ARH Internal Medicine Residency Program’s class of 2025 have successfully passed their board certification exams on their first attempt. This mark of distinction demonstrates the exceptional dedication of these individuals and the strength of the residency program.
Passing boards on the first time is considered a significant accomplishment in the medical field. A strong board pass rate reflects not only the quality of a residency program’s training and education, but also shows prospective residents that they will receive a rigorous and supportive clinical experience.
“We are incredibly proud of our graduating residents,” said Dr. L. Bart Francis, ARH Internal Medicine Program Director and board-certified internal medicine physician. “Passing a rigorous, standardized certification exam administered by a recognized medical specialty board demonstrates comprehensive knowledge in diagnosing and treating complex adult illnesses. It is a widely recognized credential that indicates the physician is committed to high-quality care and professionalism. Research has shown that patients cared for by board-certified physicians often have better health outcomes.”
Among the standout achievements of this year’s class, the program is pleased to share that Dr. Samantha Eversole, one of the newly board-certified graduates, has joined the Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center’s staff as a hospitalist. Her transition demonstrates the program’s mission of training talented physicians who continue providing excellent care to the region’s patients.
The ARH Internal Medicine Residency Program congratulates its class of 2025 and celebrates their distinction as board-certified physicians who will continue to make a meaningful impact on the health of the communities they serve.
