BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) Foundation for Healthier Communities is honored to announce that the Glade Springs Ladies Golf Association (GSLGA) raised $60,000 during the Lissa T. Mohler (LTM) Invitational & Cancer Fundraiser, held September 16–17, 2025. Hosted in memory of Lissa Tutwiler Mohler, a beloved GSLGA member and the only member to ever win the West Virginia Women’s Amateur Championship, the event drew participation from near and far in celebration of her life and legacy.
Following Lissa’s passing on August 7, 2024, her remarkable kindness, vibrant spirit, and deep-rooted friendships inspired a powerful community response. Players traveled from across the country to participate, filling the tournament field quickly and demonstrating the profound impact Lissa made on those around her.
The GSLGA selected the ARH Foundation for Healthier Communities to receive the proceeds. The ARH Foundation will issue the check and manage the distribution of funds directly to oncology patients receiving care at Beckley ARH, helping relieve critical financial burdens such as transportation, lodging, fuel, and food needs.
“We are deeply grateful to the Glade Springs Ladies Golf Association for their incredible generosity and for choosing to honor Lissa’s life through this meaningful act of giving,” said Whittney Allen, Director of Foundation Marketing & Communications. “Because of their compassion, patients in the Beckley region will receive support during some of the hardest moments of their lives.”
The LTM Invitational focused on fostering generosity and a sense of community rather than competition. A silent auction contributed significantly to reaching an impressive total of $60,000, reflecting the impact Lissa made and the commitment to upholding her philanthropic legacy.
“This donation will make a real difference,” said Beckley ARH CEO Todd Howell. “Many oncology patients struggle not only with cancer but also financial difficulties, making treatment more challenging. This fund helps ease that burden so they can focus on recovery. We appreciate GSLGA for their support.”
The ARH Foundation sincerely thanks the GSLGA leadership, cancer fundraiser chair Laurie Finley, tournament chair Janice Allen, all donors, and everyone whose contributions helped make this event possible.
